Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) is a national NGO based
in Kisumu and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), the Bernard van Leer Foundation, among others.
Its principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate research and
intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and
local communities.
We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to fill the position
of Data Analyst to be based in Kisumu, Nyanza Province.
Overall Duty: Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and write papers for
publication in international peer reviewed journals.
Duration of engagement: Six months, with a possibility of extension for
another six months or longer depending on performance and availability of
funds.
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters degree in Statistics, preferably Biostatistics.
- Masters Degree in Public Health (Epidemiology) or Population Studies or
Sociology, with bias towards statistics highly advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years experience analyzing complex biomedical and behavioral
data involving large research studies or programs.
- Must have published at least three original papers in peer-reviewed
journals, preferably as a first or second author; book chapter contributions
as first author will be considered.
- Demonstrated competency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
software a must, specifically SPSS, SAS, STATA and Atlas-ti.
- Excellent understanding of public health issues particularly HIV/AIDS
research and interventions.
