NDIs programs in Kenya are funded by USAID and the Norwegian Ministry of

NDI is seeking applications for several vacant positions for Senior Program
Officers, Program Officers and Program Assistants for the Kenya program and
the Regional support team.
Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience in one of the
following areas:
- Civil society: maintaining relationships and communication with civil
society partners implementing election support activities. Previous
experience either within a civil society organization or managing a civil
society program in the field of democracy, governance or the electoral
process is strongly preferred.
- Political parties: supporting a wide range of program activities
assisting political parties. Previous experience in the field of
democracy/governance is required. Previous experience working on programs
relevant to the development of political parties in Kenya would be an
advantage.
Qualifications:
NDI is seeking graduates, preferably in Law, Political
Science or International Relations plus relevant experience.
A graduate degree in a relevant field is preferred. A strong understanding of the
political context in Kenya, particularly regarding the electoral process or
political parties and demonstrated ability to support a non-partisan program
are required.
Program Assistants
Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of one year of experience relevant to
civil society, electoral process or political party programs.
Qualifications: NDI is seeking candidates who have a University degree in
Law, Political Science or IR. A strong understanding of the political
context in Kenya, particularly regarding the electoral process or political
parties and demonstrated ability to support a non-partisan program are
required.
Financial / Administrative Assistants
Applicants must demonstrate one of the following sets of
competencies/qualifications:
- Accounting Assistant: CPA part IM/ACCA and has a minimum of 1year
experience in a busy accounting environment. Understanding of NGO financial
management. A strong interest in IT is desirable.
- HR/Administration Assistant: Higher Diploma in HR and minimum one year
of experience in HR and General administration are required. An
undergraduate degree is an advantage
All the above positions require candidates who are committed to Kenya's
democratic development, with strong oral and written communication skills
(English), proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and are able
to manage multiple tasks with flexibility, diligence and team orientation.
Technology Consultant
Applicants must demonstrate experience/ability to:
- Support NDI domestic election monitoring partner organizations to
design and implement information, communication and technology strategies to
improve on the reach and impact of their election work.
- Guide and participate in the development of technology tools to
visualize observation, reporting, database management, website development
and online publishing of election related information
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Information Science or other relevant field with strong quantitative
background. A graduate degree will be highly preferable.
- Experience in Web 2.0 functionality
- Solid understanding of MYSQL
- Knowledge of GIS applications
- Experience working with PostGRES and PostGIS
