The Media Council of Kenya is a statutory body established in October 2007 by the Media Act CAP 411Bas the leading institution in the regulation of media and the conduct and discipline of journalists.
The Council’s mandate is, among other things, to receive and mediate or arbitrate in media related disputes, accredit and compile register of journalists practicing in Kenya.
The Council intends to recruit a qualified individual to be a Member of the Complaints Commission.
Overall Purpose of the Position
The successful candidate will join four other members of the Commission to ensure that this Commission deals with complaints in a timely and effective manner in keeping with the Media Act, the Code of Conduct for the Practice of Journalism in Kenya and the Media Complaints Rules of Procedure.
