We are, an Insurance Intermediary who wishes to recruit the following position in our Finance Department.

Chief Accountant - Finance Department

The job purpose is to ensure the financial health of the company through implementation of prudent financial management procedures and practices while ensuring facilitation of adequate operational controls & procedures in technical accounting in the company
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly and year-end accounts
- Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly budgetary reports, cash flow reports and other Management and Board reports and annual returns to the Commissioner of Insurance.
- Reviewing accounting entries and ensuring compliance with reporting procedures and policies (IFRS)
- Reviewing from time to time the accounting systems and controls in place and making recommendations for improvements where necessary;
- Cash flow management with emphasis on premium collections and payments to insurers
- Maintaining control of company investments and ensuring maximization of returns.
- Coordinating the end of year audit process and ensuring that the correct and relevant audit schedules are provided to the auditors on a timely basis.
- Tax Planning and compliance
- Liaising with external parties e.g. bankers, Statutory bodies for any matters arising Training, coaching and developing the finance Team.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance or a Business related degree,
- CPA (K).
- 6 years relevant experience with computerized computing systems, 3 of which must have been in a management level.

- Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
