Judges and Magistrate Vetting Board Drivers Vacancies

The Judges and Magistrate Vetting Board was established pursuant to section 23 of the sixth schedule to the Constitution and the vetting of Judges and Magistrates Act 2011.

The objective of the board is to vet the suitability of all the Judges and Magistrates who were in office on the effective date to continue to serve in accordance with the values and principles set out in Article 10 and 159 of the constitution. 

It shall operate for another period of two (2) years up to and including 31st December 2015.
 
The Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board seeks to recruit officers for one year six months non-renewable contracts, to fill the following positions and a competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicants:-

Job Specification
 
Drivers duties and responsibilities include;
  • Driving a motor vehicle as authorised;
  • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling,oil,electrical and brake systems, tyres pressure,etc;
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
  • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicle;
  • Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road; and
  • Safety of the passengers and / or goods therein, and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
Job Specification
 
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D Plain or its equivalent qualification from recognised institution;
  • A valid Driving Licence free from any current endorsement(s) for classes of vehicles an officer is required to drive
  • Attended a first Aid course lasting for not less than one (1) week at St John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognised institution;
  • Passed Suitability Test for Drivers grade III;
  • A valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police; and at least two (2) years driving experience.
