Senior Legal Officer, Commercial (1 Post)

JOB REF. - HR: KP1/5CB/3 - 464

Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Senior Legal Officer will perform among others, the following key duties:
  • Drawing and vetting contracts, leases and other legal instruments involving the Company and third parties.
  • Participating in contract negotiations including contracts for electricity network construction, development of power capacity, financing and property acquisition.
  • Providing legal the Company procurement, legal issues compliance.
  • Handling regulatory issues within the energy sector.
  • Ensuring safe custody of legal documents and securities.
  • Participating in resolving disputes with customers and other parties.
  • Undertaking other tasks that may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements

Interested applicants must possess the following;
  • Bachelors of Law Degree.
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya opinion and as required, wayleaves, and ensuring advice to including handling statutory
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law.
  • Member of the Law Society of Kenya
  • 8 years relevant work experience in a busy commercial environment including handling major commercial transactions.
  • Training or experience in energy, finance and negotiations will be an added advantage.
  • IT User skills.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Articulate, assertive and team player.
