Senior Legal Officer, Commercial (1 Post)
JOB REF. - HR: KP1/5CB/3 - 464
Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Senior Legal Officer will perform among others, the following key duties:
- Drawing and vetting contracts, leases and other legal instruments involving the Company and third parties.
- Participating in contract negotiations including contracts for electricity network construction, development of power capacity, financing and property acquisition.
- Providing legal the Company procurement, legal issues compliance.
- Handling regulatory issues within the energy sector.
- Ensuring safe custody of legal documents and securities.
- Participating in resolving disputes with customers and other parties.
- Undertaking other tasks that may be assigned.
Appointment Requirements
Interested applicants must possess the following;
- Bachelors of Law Degree.
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya opinion and as required, wayleaves, and ensuring advice to including handling statutory
- Post Graduate Diploma in Law.
- Member of the Law Society of Kenya
- 8 years relevant work experience in a busy commercial environment including handling major commercial transactions.
- Training or experience in energy, finance and negotiations will be an added advantage.
- IT User skills.
- Good interpersonal & communication skills.
- Articulate, assertive and team player.
