M-PESA Business Development Manager
M-PESA Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Head of Department-Financial Services Strategy; the job holder will analyze, prioritize & deliver against M-PESA business growth opportunities within a strategic framework.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Department-Financial Services Strategy; the job holder will analyze, prioritize & deliver against M-PESA business growth opportunities within a strategic framework.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the Business Development strategy to ensure
growth and development of existing and new services;
Develop and roll sector specific customer value propositions
focused on enterprise customer’s segmentation;
Develop and roll sector specific customer value propositions
focused on consumer segmentation;
Review existing products and services quarterly to improve
customer experience and develop tactical plans to stimulate increased usage;
Research and screen potential M-PESA opportunities and advice on
which ones need to be pursued further- included in the Strategy Road Map;
Create targets for each new product and service being rolled out
as per business case deliverables and customer recruitment;
Analyze revenue actual vs. targets; investigate any shortfall
& propose remedial action;
Champion seamless integration to all business partners and
enhancing the customer experience;
Develop, foster and maintain effective relationships with
various businesses through the various stake holders;
Negotiate and manage the development and execution of contracts
and processes;
Ensure that there is compliance with all processes and
commercial terms.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Sales and Marketing or a business management
discipline;
At least four (4) years experience in Retail Banking
environment;
Have strong business/financial acumen with experience developing
metrics and pricing and compensation programs;
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience in learning technology, enterprise applications or testing
marketplace;
Good understanding of financial principles, understands
financial ratios, can interpret standard financial statements- experience in
developing banking products will be and added advantage
Excellent communication and presentation skills;
An understanding of mobile money transfer and international
money transfer market.
Experience in contract negotiation and external partner
relationships management is an added advantage;
Excellent project management and corporate sales;
Experience in international money transfer is an added
advantage.
Senior Manager - Product Development - Strategic Projects

Reporting to the Head of Department – M-PESA Operations & Product Development and, the job holder will set and manage the strategic Financial Services projects, including roll out, -on going performance and enhancement of the new and existing products and ensure systems/products meet the set business standards.
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
Reporting to the Head of Department – M-PESA Operations & Product Development and, the job holder will set and manage the strategic Financial Services projects, including roll out, -on going performance and enhancement of the new and existing products and ensure systems/products meet the set business standards.
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
Manage the projects roadmap in the country including local &
VF requirements working with VF & SC technical and commercial teams;
Manage the development and documentation of business case for
new/enhancement to products and services for presentation;
Define product requirements for customization to meet specific
customer needs and liaises with the technical team to ensure
correct implementation;
Manage the testing of new/enhanced functionality, tariffs and
business rules prior to implementation;
Development of new processes and framework development for
the M-PESA channel;
Ensure both Kenyan and international marketing activities
are coordinated;
Project Manage the delivery of new functionality and system
enhancements to the market, including requirement specification, testing,
documentation of processes & procedures;
Identify & implement local changes for process improvement,
in liaison with internal stakeholders from technical and other departments;
Manage the training programs for M-PESA agents and
clients on M-PESA products and services;
Act as the liaison for other M-PESA operators wishing to
learn in general or in detail about the practical operation of
M-PESA in the Country;
Represent the team in technical/functional meetings with party
and ensuring the 3rd party integration to M-PESA meets Safaricom
standards;
Prepare and present project in gate committees Prepare and
present business reports (daily, Weekly or monthly)
Manage the performance of staff in the section by defining
performance indicators, assign tasks, and define goals and objectives for the
staff development;
Manage and grow talent within the section.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in a Technical field – Telecommunications ,
engineering or Information Technology;
Project Management Certified – PMP / PMI or equivalent;
10 years post-graduation work experience of which 5 years must
be in a management role in FSI or Banking;
Experience in Banking products both core and none core,
integrations, switches, processes and procedures;
Work experience Multiple projects simultaneously ;from start to
finish ; 6-12 month duration , which have an impact across the company; have
impact on customers ;which have impact on revenue generation capability of the
organization
Good understanding of financial principles, understands
financial ratios, can interpret standard financial statements;
Good understanding of the Kenyan market, subscriber preferences
and subscriber trends;
Attention to detail with good organizational, planning, report
writing and presentation skills;
Proactive, confident, energetic with the ability to work under
pressure, to tight schedules/deadlines and monitor and follow up on all actions
taken;
A highly motivated person with a positive attitude towards work,
innovative, creative, results oriented with excellent analytical skills;
A proven team player with excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
