The National Drought
Management Authority (NDMA) is a State Corporation, created by Legal
Notice No. 171 of 24th November 2011, under the Ministry of State for
Development of Northern Kenya and other Arid Lands, with the mandate of
providing leadership and coordination on all matters relating to drought
management.
The Authority’s Board of Directors intends to fill the following positions.
Clerical Officer (Transport and Office Services Administration)
(REF: NDMA 30) (1 Position)
Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the Clerical Officer
(Transport and Office Service Administration) will assist the HR and Administration Division to deliver on its objectives.
Core duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient, timely availability, and cost effective management of the Authority’s fleet of vehicles
- Establish and maintain systematic and safe custody of records
- Coordinate efficient and continuous provision of office services and maintenance of office equipment
- Ensure that the Authority maintains a current lease and timely rent payments
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Possess a Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Records Management or Transport Management.
- Demonstrated competence in Information Communication Technology and high proficiency in Word Processors, development of Spread Sheets, Preparation of Presentations and creation and maintenance of Transport Management and Records related Database
- 3 years of relevant experience.
Clerical Officer HR Administration
(REF: NDMA 31) (1position)
Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the Clerical Officer HR Administration will assist the HR and Administration Division to deliver on its objectives.
Core duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate staff Training Needs Assessment and prepare Annual Staff Development plans and Budget
- Manage the Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
- Ensure implementation of the Performance Managements Process and align it to the Annual Salary Administration process at National and County levels
- Liaise with County Drought Coordinators on all staff matters between the County offices and Headquarters and ensure timely action is taken within the appropriate policies
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Certificate in Human Resource Management, Commerce or Business Administration. Diploma in Human Resource Management will have an added advantage
- Demonstrated competence in Information Communication Technology and high proficiency in Word Processors, development of Spread Sheets, Preparation of Presentations and Creation and Maintenance of Human Resource Management related Database
- 3 years of relevant experience
Clerical Officer (HR Services and Payroll Administration)
(REF: NDMA 32) (1position)
Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the Clerical Officer (HR Services and Payroll Administration) will assist the HR and Administration Division to deliver on its objectives.
Core duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare and provide to the Senior Accountant primary data and information required for the preparation of the monthly payroll and payment of approved allowances
- Prepare and remit payroll related statutory payments within the deadlines stipulated in the governing legislation
- Administer staff welfare, counseling and guidance, benefit programmes and grievance/complaints handling
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Certificate in Human Resource Management from a reputable institution
- Demonstrated competence in Information Communication Technology and high proficiency in Word Processors, development of Spread Sheets, Preparation of Presentations and Creation and Maintenance of Human Resource Management related Database
- Trained by Kenya Revenue Authority on line PAYE returns process
- Basic training in Counseling and Guidance in reputable institution
- 3 years of relevant experience in Payroll Administration in a large organization
