Faulu was the first Micro Finance Institution in Kenya to be licensed by the Central Bank as a deposit taking institution.

1. Trainee Finance Partner
Job Ref: HR 2012/11/01
Minimum Qualifications
Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing and equivalent or Diploma in Cooperative management.
Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge in Sales and Marketing, Credit risk management and computer literacy a must.
Experience: 1 year preferably in a financial institution.
Key Roles and Expectations
This is a challenging role, requiring commitment and passion for
the economic transformation of the low income population within rural,
peri-urban and urban areas spread across the country.
The position’s key roles include: -
- Portfolio growth and management: Recruit and retain clients ensuring a growth in loan disbursement through excellent customer service and timely service delivery.
- Deposit Mobilization: Solicit deposits to match and exceed the loan book.
- Loan processing: Ensure thorough business assessment, proper securitization and compliance to audit standards and company policy.
- Client education: Disseminate information to prospective clients and ensure understanding of operations policy as well as training them on group leadership.
- Loan book quality management: ensure that all loans given are timely paid in compliance to policy and statutory requirements.
- A link with the public: Liaise with local administration, maintain relationships with the public and portray company and Christian values at the marketplace.
2. Tellers

Minimum qualifications
Academic Qualifications: A business related degree or equivalent preferably in Finance & Banking, IT or Minimum CPA 2.
Knowledge and Skills: Computer
proficiency a must with a keen eye on detail. Speed and accuracy for
these positions is key. Knowledge on policies and procedures applied in
DTM will be an added advantage
Experience: One year experience as a teller & in customer service in a financial institution
Key responsibilities
The position holder will among other duties carry out the following duties:
- Transaction processing: Process daily customer transactions in line with Faulu policies and other operation procedures. Ensure all customer transactions are correctly posted.
- Cash reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of cash receipts and other payments.
- Cash summary: Daily completion of the Cash on hand Summary sheets or cash on hand register and ensure that it is signed by both the Teller and cash officer.
- Cash Repatriation: Assist in preparation of cash bundles for repatriation.
- Customer service: Ensure high standards of customer service ensuring all customer queries are handled appropriately.
- Cross selling: Proactively cross sell all bank Faulu products
- Any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.
Customer Advisors

Minimum Qualifications
Academic Qualifications: A business related degree/diploma or equivalent preferably in Finance & Banking and/or IT.
Knowledge and Skills: Computer proficiency a must with a keen eye on detail. Knowledge on operations
procedures, knowledge of KYC & AML policies including DTM policies and guidelines. Excellent customer
service skills a must.

Experience: One year experience in customer service in a financial institution
Key responsibilities
- Provide face to face assistance to Banking hall customers.
- Investigate and respond to customer enquiries
- Review Customer Account applications and process in them ensuring adherence to set policies and procedures.
- Cross-sell Faulu products and Channels to customers to reduce the volume of basic information enquiries.
- Attract new customers through provision of quality after sales service
- Ensure excellent customer service to achieve set customer satisfaction rate
- Maintaining regular internal (to staff) and external (to customers) communication on Customer Service matters.
