STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
The client is a Kenyan company that has been in operation since 2002, steadily growing to be at the forefront of supply of specialized building solutions. The company is aimed at partnering with builders to actualize their design concepts through provision of specialized building material solutions. Through the strength of their products, the company continues to partner with builders and specifiers in the construction industry. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong structural design and architecture back ground. Solid knowledge in structural design using steel and timber is essential skills. Responsibilities include assessment, design, planning, and execution of structural designs on a wide range of projects.Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out the structural Design and details, supervise production and assembly of members and
manage the implementation of the project from beginning to end
Offer accurate technical computations of company’s products to meet customer’s requirements as derived from the project drawings
Liaising with the client’s consultants on structural matters relating to the project
Using computer-aided/assisted design (CAD) technology for design and simulation purposes;
Once construction is underway, to be involved in inspection of the work and advising contractors.
Qualification and Skills Required
Diploma in Structural Engineering or related field
2-3 years experience in a similar field
The ability to analyze complex problems and assess solutions
The ability to explain design plans and ideas
Good project management skills
The ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Excellent team working and people skills
A sound knowledge of construction methods, building code and practice, health and safety, and legal regulations.
