Public Communications Intern
NCCK is seeking to recruit 1 Public Communication Intern for a period of 3 months. The purpose of the communication intern is to amplify the advocacy messages issued by NCCK through social media and an SMS platform. Social media includes and is not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Blog, websites, YouTube,
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Communications/IT/BBIT/Computer Science/social sciences
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in communications/social media/IT
Fluency in Kiswahili and English
Website development skills
Website development skills and experience in using content management systems
Experience and knowledge in report writing.
Fast and accurate typing skills
Evidence of use of social media with existing and active accounts
Ability to communicate effectively and work in teams;
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Strong interest in current social, economic and political affairs
Duties and responsibilities
The person will, among other things:
Administer NCCK’s SMS platform in consultation with the ICT manager and Public Relations Officer (PRO)
Update SMS responses in the SMS platform
Establish a BlogSpot and post press statements of the NCCK as guided by the PRO;
Analyze and generate reports from social media and the SMS platform as guided by the PRO
Recommend articles, pictures and other items for inclusion in the NCCK website by the PRO
Participate in meetings;
Perform other tasks as required.
