DRIVER / ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
The Australian High Commission (AHC), Nairobi is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals for the delivery of quality DRIVING SERVICES and to undertake a range of ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT duties.
DUTIES
As a driver and administration assistant for the High Commission, the successful applicant will perform the following duties:
• Perform work in the operation of a vehicle to ensure safe transportation of AHC personnel and other designated clients to and from various destinations and to assist clients on entry and exit from vehicles as necessary.
• Maintain a variety of records, for example, vehicle log sheets, vehicle requisition forms.
• Plan journey routes ahead of assignments and reassess as required to prevailing road and/or security conditions.
• Drive Head of Mission on a rotational basis
• Independent judgment must be exercised in handling unplanned ad-hoc situations.
• Assume responsibility for care and maintenance of AHC fleet vehicles; wash vehicles and clean interior; take AHC fleet vehicles to garage for maintenance and repair.
• Request and provide quotes from service providers.
• Provide general maintenance assistance to owned and leased property.
• Provide administrative support as directed.
• Undertake driver training as required.
Applications (a cover letter of maximum two pages, and CV of maximum two pages) should address the following selection criteria:
• Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles, Nairobi Kenya.
• Must have a clean driving record, able to obtain a CDL (commercial drivers license) if necessary, ability to certify in special needs assistance training, defensive driver training, armoured vehicle driver training, and first aid.
• Working knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of automotive equipment.
• Good knowledge of all parts of Nairobi and regional districts.
• Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to operate a 4WD vehicle.
• Ability to lift weights of up to 32kgs
• High level IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
• High level verbal and written communication skills.
• High level organisational and coordination skills.
SALARY
Starting monthly salary will be in the range of Kes.56,010 - 61,776 depending on qualifications and experience. There will be an expectation of availability to work overtime (paid) on a regular basis as required.
